In fact the hotel was only a short walk from plenty of restaurants and main gift shop areas, as well as Metro station, and not too far to walk to the Acropolis or Syntagma Square. Nice breakfast on roof with great view of Acropolis. Staff very helpful and happy to store luggage

The bed looked more like a capsule - after you close your curtain(which btw is blackout) you have everything that you need inside. WC were clean as in 5-star hotels. I was lucky to have a breathtaking view on the Acropolis from the terrace on my floor. Public transport is just above the corner and it is easy to reach the airport from the hostel.

I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound
If you want to avoid crowds while seeing the famous sights, start out early and be at the sights when they open. I arrived at the Acropolis around 8:10 AM and there were only around 20 people on the whole compound. It was wonderful! There was a crowd climbing the hill when I descended, though!

Consider visiting Athens in May or September. May is just lovely. Spring flowers like poppies and daisies cover the hills. It's not too busy and not too hot. Remember that on holidays you are always moving so consider the weather when you make your plans. Also, research opening hours as the Acropolis is closed May 1; and other Ancient Landmarks are closed on certain days and on certain hours any other day.
