A luxury, purpose-built resort along the Algarve region coastline offering a variety of accommodation ranging from 5-star hotels to villas and apartments, Vilamoura is the largest complex of its type in Europe. It is conveniently located, 16 km from Albufeira and 25 km from Faro Airport.
Its heart and soul lies around the exclusive Marina, while the 20 square kilometre development is flanked by a Golf Academy and 6 Golf Courses. It also includes a casino and a variety of sports facilities, comprising a diving club and a large, sandy beach. Although the area was developed from scratch by the Porto banker Cupertino de Miranda in 1974, its origins date back to Roman times. The Cerro da Vila Museum tells the story of the ancient fishing town, and displays the ruins of the Roman baths from the 1st century.

Wonderful restaurants! Delicious food and lovely ambiance in all places visited, especially in the area behind the Marina. Favourite restaurants included The Fish Shack, Don Alfonso, Retino, Nija, Sal & Fozo. Steak, lamb and fish dishes all delicious and of course Monkfish Cataplaner. Local beaches all well cared for. Loved the Marina, to sit outside and people and boat watch, peaceful and scenic

I have been going to Vilamoura for several years mainly due to the location only 25 minutes from Faro airport and close to the beach, bars and restaurants. Love Vilamoura so much to see and do.
Love Vilamoura so much to see and do. The Old Village was amazing. All facilities included even several pools. Some enclosed and we had one just up 5 steps from where we were staying. Plenty of choices for food and entertainment.

Beautiful place, fantastic food. Lots of trips you are able to book when you're there like parasailing, fishing, jet skiing, dolphin watching, visit the caves, there's a waterpark nearby, beaches are beautiful and clean. There are a few bars 5mins away .Graces bar great breakfast .had a great meal in the evening there. Very helpful before we arrived, when we arrived and during our time in the apartment and area. Felt very secure and safe. Used the associated News restaurant as well, which was also very good, great service and excellent food. Vilamoura Marina is a top area with lots of lovely restaurants and great bars. The apartment also had access to a lovely private swimming pool and garden area which overlooked the marina.

Balcony had sun from late morning until around 8pm. (Late June). Large pool on site. Short walk around the marina to two beaches. We loved it, would definitely return. Manned reception and great communication. Nothing was trouble. Small supermarket is 1 minute walk. Very friendly.
